The Great Yogurt Conspiracy

I'm a big fan of the light variety store brand of yogurt sold by Bloom and Harris Teeter. It's the right thing to do, and the tasty way to do it, damnit! They taste exactly the same, so I'm guessing they are packaged in the same plant. I noticed that at Bloom, they had 8 ounce containers while Harris Teeter sold their yogurt in 6 oz containers. So I would normally buy it at Bloom since I got 2 ounces more for the same price. Well imagine my disappointment when I went to Bloom this sunday and all their yogurt is now sold in 6 ounce containers as well. WTF? How can they just decide to reduce the content by 25% and charge the same amount?

It's another case of the consumer getting screwed. They charge is the same, but we get less. That just sucks!

That's right, it's all part of their plan to weaken American by depriving us of delicious, nutritious yogurt!

Eh, shopping at Bloom is already a bit of a price fuck, ain't it? SFW and Giant for me! And Trader Joe's when I need to reassert my social conscious/hippy/leftist commie status.

Bloom and Harris Teeter are both very close to my house and a convenience more than anything else. We used to shop exclusively at Giant, but we had some bad experiences last summer with bad meat. I think it was probably a refrigeration issue. Rachel went to get out ground beef one night to make a meatloaf and the meat was green. Ewwww. It also happened to us with stew meat and a few more times with ground beef. We still buy our ice cream at Giant. Their store brand is really good and reasonably priced. They usually run sales where you can get 2 half gallons for $5.00.

Speaking of ice cream, if you and Mandy are ever down near Stafford, check out this place called Brusters. They have the best ice cream I've ever had. If you order a 2 scoop waffle cone, they pack like a quart of ice cream into the thing.

Blooms prices aren't bad on most things. They only thing I never buy there is soda. They charge like $1.69 for a 2 liter and like $5.00 for a 12 pack of 12 oz cans. Crazy.
