Weeds Season 2

I received disk 1 of the second season of Weeds last week from Netflix. Wow the second season has been great so far. The other night Rachel went to bed early, so I sat and watched 3 episodes back to back and finished disk 1. I look forward to viewing disk two when I get back from New York.

The show really offers something for everyone. There is suspense surrounding the whole drug dealing aspect of the show. Kevin Nealon and Elizabeth Perkins offer great comedy relief, although in very different ways. There's the sexual escapades of the wacky, freeloading brother-in-law, and the dysfunctional young sons. So I think the show could be enjoyed by both men and women.

There was a particularly funny episode where the plumbing was all clogged up in the house. They call in a plumber and he removes all these tube socks that had been flushed down the toilet. Turns out the youngest son had been masturbating into his tube socks and flushing the evidence down the toilet. So the mom sends in her wacky brother-in-law to set the young lad straight. The terms he used were hysterical. My favorite was when he said "when you're pitching with your Randy Johnson". Then they follow up the talk by taking the boy to an Asian massage parlor. "no do leetel boooy, un-apropriate. You take heeem hooome". There was also an interesting scene involving a banana peel.

So if you're looking for something new to watch, check out Weeds. I think they just began season 3. It's only 30 minutes an episode, so you can blow through a season pretty quickly.
