Happy Maddenoliday

Thanks to the release of Madden 2008, thousands if not millions of people are expected to call out sick today. Supposedly only the Monday after the Super Bowl and the first Friday of March Madness are the only days when more people call out sick. Perhaps we need two or three more federal holidays. We don't have any holidays on August, so why not make the 2nd Tuesday in August a national holiday?

Ironically, I think this will be the first year I don't run out and buy Madden on the day it's released. I may not even buy it at all. Maybe I'm getting old, or maybe I'm just tired of being burned by all the hype. Fact of the matter is that since the "next gen" versions of Madden have come out, the overall game has suffered. Sure the game looks beautiful, but a lot of what used to make the game great on the regular XBOX is now missing.

It was annoying the piss out of me, so I looked it up. In case it was bugging you, here's the explanation as to why all the NFL QB's are wearing green dots on the back of their helmets. Quarterbacks wear special helmets with radios in them so they can hear the play being called in by the coach/offensive coordinator/backup QB. Well apparently, some teams were equipping other members of their team with these special helmets as well. I guess this would come in handy if you are on the road and the crowd is really noisy. You equip your receivers and rb's with these helmets and they can hear the play being called in without having to hear the QB yell over the crowd. Not sure if the officials inspect everyones helmets before the game, so not sure how effective it will be.

Wow the Yankees game was exciting last night. Most of their wins lately have been blow outs, so it was kind of nice to have a close game for once.

The movie Super Bad looks hysterical. McLovin. HAHAHA.

I downloaded these voice add ons for my GPS. I grabbed a few different ones like Yoda, Mr. T and Ozzie Osbourne. Some of them were ok, but some of them were just really bad imitations of people. Like the one of Homer Simpson. It's the worst Homer impression ever. I think my mom can do a better job of imitating him. It's pretty entertaining hearing Yoda say "turn left, you will!". The Joe Pesci one is pretty bad as well. It's just some high pitched New Yorker who curses a lot.

Did you commit suicide after you wrote this post?

I want an Xbox 360 pretty bad at the moment. There are a lot of cool looking games coming out for that I want to play. Madden is not one of them.

Dave, which games are you interested in? I'm looking forward to the new Moto GP 3. I think it's due out in the fall sometime. I have MotoGP 2 and that game is so much fun. When you go on XBOX live you can race with up to 16 other people, it gets pretty crazy out there.

Have you gotten any new games for the Wii recently? Last game I got was Mario Party 8. I'm kind of intrigued by Big Brain Academy.
