Canadians are nice, eh

For a while now, I've felt like a lot of Americans are very bitter and kind of mean in general. It doesn't bother me when someone makes jokes about self destructive people like Britney and Lindsay, they brought this mess upon themselves, and in many ways, encourage the mockery. But when I hear people making fun of the girl who lost her feet on a ride at Six Flags, or someone making fun of Tammy Faye, that is just cruel and uncalled for. Maybe Americans could stand to be a little nicer to one another.
My feelings about being mean were backed up last night while watching the Yankees game. The Yankees are playing the Blue Jays, so the MLB package broadcasted the game on the Toronto tv network. The score was something like 7-2 Yankees and it was 1st and 3rd for the Yankees and Johnny Damon stole 2nd base. When you're up by 4 or more runs, it's often frowned upon and considered "showing up" the other team if you bunt, steal bases or do anything else that could inflate the score further. Well normally, after seeing Johnny Damon steal 2nd, I would expect to hear the announcers say something like "that was uncalled for", "that's bush league" or "that's a cheap shot". Oh no, not in Canada. Those super nice Canadian announcers put a nice spin on it. "The Yankees must really respect the high powered offense of the Blue Jays. They're trying to scrape together a few more insurance runs, to put this game out of reach for the Blue Jays bats". That made me chuckle.
On a side note, I would like to thank the Mariner Moose for almost running over Coco Crisp the other day. Keep practicing and maybe next time, you'll get him! See, I'm a mean American!

COCO jumped out of the way and had a good laugh, one of the Sox coaches was going apeshit! (or moose shit as the case may be).
When we were at the skydome, and teh Mets were smokin' the Jays teh crowd was cheering for meaningless strikeouts for Pizza. Could you imagine the Mets at Shea or teh yankees at the stadium down by 5 runs and the fans cheering because they might get a slice of cardboad with a little ketchup on it? Those people are too nice.
"Those People" now that's funny
