NFL Predictions...

This is the 2nd most exciting time for me, when it comes to sports. I think when March rolls around the Yankees roll into spring training, is still more exciting for me. But anyway, I have a couple of predictions I would like to throw out there as training camp begins.

1) The Cowboys and Giants will fight to win the NFC East, the Redskins and Eagles will be non factors.

2) The Jets and Giants will have the exact opposite records. Jets 4-12 Giants 12-4

3) Things will go really bad in Cincinatti. I think Carson Palmer won't be the same QB, I think Chad Johnson will get frustrated, turn into a mini TO, he will sulk, he will pout. The Bengals will finish 5-11

4) The Panthers will be scary good if Keshawn can behave

5) Aaron Brooks and Randy Moss will be a good combo

6) The Colts will be good, but not Colts good. They will struggle some with the lost of Vanderjagt and Edgerin James. They will win their division, but they won't be the same feared team they have been the last two years

7) Ben Roethlisberger is still stupid

8) The Saints even with Daunte Culpepper and Reggie Bush (If he signs) will still suck

Ill probably have some more predictions as we get closer to the start of the season...

You're right Dave. Daunte is on the Dolphins. I meant Drew Breeze and Reggie Bush.

I think the Jets have a serious QB situation, thats why I dont think they will have a great season. I dont think Pennington has the arm strength to be an NFL QB, and I've seen what Patrick Ramsey can do first hand down here in DC. Plus they lost Herm Edwards which I think is a huge step back.

Not sure about the team editions of Madden. Thats news to me. I know there is supposed to be some collectors edition of Madden coming out with some bonus features, but havent heard of team editions.

Dave, you should go check out Giants camp at albany it was fun last year when I went. I am thinking of checking out the Jets at Hofstra one of these days.

As far as your predictions Mike

- I totally agree with your bengals assesment
- Duante Culpepper is going to have huge season in Miami (they coudl win the East)
- Roethlisberger will be exposed without The Bus and Randel El
- The Colts will be fine
- There arennt enough balls being thrown in Carolina to keep Keyshawn happy, he'll have to accept he is clearly at best #2 behind Steve Smith

I agree with you Dave that Pennington is a very smart passer, but he's only accurate from 20 yards and in. It's very hard to win in the NFL when you can't stretch things out and throw the deep ball. That's why the Colts and Seahawks have been so successful. Pound the ball up the middle with Edgerin and Alexander, then when the defensive creeps in, its a 40 yard pass to Harrison, Wayne, Stokley etc. If Pennington throws a 40 yards pass, it's underthrown and picked off. Plus the Jets don't really have anyone with breakway speed. McCareins and Coles have good hands, but they aren't super quick or super tall.

As far as Clemens goes, he's at the very least 2 years away from being a decent everyday QB. I think the Jets would use Ramsey or Bollinger before Clemens. And how many great QB's have come out of the Pac 10?

I think Terry Butler could be the bright spot for them. The Jets need to get that fossill Curtis Martin out of the backfield and get some fresh legs in there.

I would love it if the Jets did well, because I do like the Jets. Even though I'm a Giants fan, I don't hate the Jets like I do with the Mets. I just don't think they have much to work with just yet. Especially when the Jets have to play New England, Miami and Buffalo twice each. They'll be 1-5 right there.
