The weekend is here...have a can of beer
Forget about TGIF, tell all your buddies and co-workers to have a can of beer...
Glad to see they made some progress in the London bombing investigation. I was shocked to find out the people behind the attack were Muslim males in their mid 20's. Who would have thunk it?
Holy crap was last nights Yankees-Red Sox game exciting. Yankees were down 4-0 after the 1st inning. I turned the game off and went to run a few errands with Rachel. Turned the game on about 90 minutes later and it was 5-5. After David Ortiz hit the go ahead home run in the 7th I thought the game was over. Yankees havent had a good track record when it comes to coming from behind. But they manufactured a run in the 8th by playing sound, fundamental baseball and took the lead when A-Rod went deep off of Kurt Schilling in the top of the 9th. BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!!!
Glad to see that the NHL is back and we'll have hockey again in the fall. I'm not a huge hockey fan, but it was strange not having professional hockey around for over a year. I hope the other major sports and players associations learn something from this ugliness. Greed is a bad thing. I hope hockey fans don't blindly go back to games. There needs to be a backlash. Don't buy tickets, don't buy merchandise, show the players and the NHL you're pissed. You have every right to be.
The past two years at work, during the summer months (memorial day through labor day) we have a tradition called "Freaky Shirt Friday". On friday, everyone would wear a tacky, painfully colorful Hawaiian shirt or something similar (with no pants). Well this year, "Freaky Shirt Friday" has been replaced by "Don't show up to work on Friday". I can't remember the last time we had a full staff on a friday. So today I'm the only jackass who looks like he just got back from a loo aw. Mahalo my friends!!! Please pass the pineapple.
