Random Thoughts...
Have a bunch of little things I wanted to talk about...
We have a few college "kids" interning at the office. It's funny to me to see how unpolished most of them are. I guess real world experience is as important as any education. Anyway...I went to the bathroom this morning and heard someone singing "Nothing But a Good Time" by Poison from one of the stalls. They must hav been listening to it on an iPod or something and they were just singing along like they were alone in the shower. Very funny.
I hate public bathrooms. I hate the smells, the way they look, I just hate everything about them. But one of my biggest problems are the unpleasant noises you hear while in a bathroom. Various gases being expelled, splashing of toilet water, people hacking up lungs etc. Since I don't have the knowhow or resources to do this myself, I'm throwing this idea out there. Sound proof bathroom stalls!!!
Speaking of inventions, I can't really say one single invention is better than all the rest, but I have to say that air conditioning has to rank up there near the top. On days like yesterday when the heat index is a ridiculous 116 degrees, the AC really takes the edge off. I think there would be far more spur of the moment and road rage crimes if it wasn't for air conditioning.
There has been a lot of talk lately about how ticket sales at the movies are down. And personally the only movie I've seen at a theatre this spring/summer is Star Wars. For me, I don't like going because of the other people. It really irritates ne when people bump my seat, get up from their seats, talk on cell phones etc. Im just much happier watching a movie on my couch. Have you been going to less movies the past year?
I'm a big fan of the syndicated "Don and Mike Show". So I was shocked when I heard that Don's wife Freda was killed in an automobile accident on Sunday. The thing that I love so much about the show is how the guys on the show take you into their homes, into their lives. You get to feel like you know them personally. So I was really saddened by the news. But it really made me think of how quickly ones life can change. I mean on Sunday morning Don and Freda woke up in their vacation home in Ocean City Maryland. They were happilly married. Don was probably looking forward to going back and doing the show after two weeks off. Then by that evening, Don was a widower, Freda was dead. Their son left without a mom. It's just nuts. So while it may sound corny, don't take loved ones for granted. You never know how long they will be around you.
Ok now to get back to less serious matters...
Is it just me or does Philladelphia Phillies Bobby Abreu look like a mildly retarded/crosseyed Sammy Sosa?

I was so upset when I heard about Freda's passing. It was wierd I usually am upset when I hear something terrible like that but for some reason I was even more so about this story. What you said is right, they took us into their homes and I felt like I knew them. I was thinking the same thing they woke up to normalcy and now the poor man's beloved wife and mother of his child is gone. That show and ofcourse his life is forever changed. I fell so bad.
Yeah Bobby Abreau does look like Sammy Sosa.
I hate going to the theaters too. But still go. I'm a glutton for punishment I guess.
I didn'y know you listened to the Don and Mike show. Cool. Yeah Niel and I were saying that the show may never be the same. Mike, Buzz and Rob have been doing the show without Don the past few days, trying to do their best. It's just hard to be light hearted after something like this. I can't even begin to imagine the sense of loss they are going through.
Yeah I can imagine it's difficult to go on with the show.
Niel and I used to listen to them(as well as Fez and Ron) when they were on in NY and their show was my favorite. It stuck with me.
Oh cool. Ron and Fez are down here in DC on the same station as Don and Mike. But the rumor is they are headed to XM satalite radio :-(
Yeah I remember the four of them going to D.C. around the same time. Will Ron and Fez be on Sirius?
Well Don and Mike originated in DC. They used to travel to NY to try to expand into another big market, but then 102.7 changed formats.
As far as Ron and Fez go, I think they are just going to be on XM.
right
