BitchLOG warning!!!!
I'm sure a month from now, when Rachel and I are settled in to the new house, we'll think it was all worth it. But as of now, we're both pretty tired of the whole moving process. I was actually happy to come to work today, because at least here I just use my brain and there is very little physical movement required. I woke up this morning after about 12 hours of packing, carrying boxes, throwing out trash, taking stuff apart. So this morning I am very tired, cranky, and my lower back is killing me. And everytime someone walks into my office, I want to throw something at them.
Luckily Rachel's mom has been great and very helpul. She was over wednesday, thursday, friday and last night to help with the packing. Plus I think Rachel and I behave better when she is around. We're both running on E, and have short fuses at the moment. So she's doubling as a peace keeper.
This will probably be one of my last posts for a while. My vacation starts wednesday, and I have a shitload to do. It will start with me and Rachel doing some painting over at the new place. Then Thursday the carpet guys come to install the new carpet in the bedrooms and basement, and the laminate gets installed friday. We want to try to get as much of the painting done before the new carpet gets installed so we dont have to worry about spills. Saturday the movers bring everything from the townhouse to the new house, so hopefully vy saturday night we should be able to start sleeping at the new house. Here's what the next 10 days or so have in store:
Install Ceiling Fans
Install garage door opener
Install kitchen faucet
Install showerheads
Install new locks and deadbolts
Paint master bedroom
Kitchen
2nd bedroom
Reading room
Sports room
Bathroom(s)
Pain/Stain Adirondack chairs
Coat Closet
Microwave cart
Put together patio set
Adirondack chairs
Coat Closet
Microwave cart
Garage storage
Change light switches/dimmers
Toilet seats
Then my mom comes down for a visit next wednesday. Don't think I won't ask a 72 year old woman to carry some boxes around ;-). She has to earn her keep. Well maybe she can just cook us dinner or something.
So I'll be talking to you all in a couple of weeks...Hopefully with pictures, wacky stories and less irritability.
