Beatallica

So what do you get when you take a song like Enter Sandman and mix it together with Taxman by The Beatles? Why you have Beatallica of course. I stumbled upon this band by accident over the weekend, and man is it entertaining. Imagine Beatles songs being sung by a guy doing a really over the top impersonation of James Hetfield. That's what Beatallica is all about. WhenI first heard it, I actually thought it was Metallica messing around in the studio. It sounds that much like them. There are a few songs that are really annoying, but for the most part the songs are very funny and entertaining to listen to. I'm a big fan of Leper Madonna, Garage Days Night, Seargent Hetfields Motorbreath PUb Band and Blackened USSR. They even take the sappy early Beatles stuff like I Wanna Hold Your Hand, and put a metal feel into it and rename it I Wanna Choke Your Band. They mix Let it Be and The Thing That Should Not Be, and they come up with a chorus something like "Let it be, let it be, Irish children watch the sea....Pray for fathers roaming free". It's pure genius. Unfortunately, after doing some research on Beatallica, I learned that the Wisconsin based band was sued by Sony Music an forced to shut down their website. Apprantly, Lars from Metallica supports Beatallica, but the living members of the Beatles don't find it funny. So I don't think we'll be hearing any new material from Beatallica. It's really a shame because I think this could really take off. You can combine Metallica and Tool and call the name MeTOOLica. Or throw in Eddie Van Halens feverish guitar playing and mix it with some Metallica and BAM you have Van Tallica.
Here's just a taste of some of the lyrics from Sandman. Sing it to the melody of Taxman.

Let me tell you how shit will beBetter grip your pillow tight-a-layNow enter SandmanYEE-AA-AH, enter Sandman
I will fill your eyez with sandOff to Nevernever land
Cuz I'm the SandmanYEE-AA-AH, fuckin' Sandman
