Football Pickin's
Since I did so stellar last week going 1-3, I'll give it another go and see if I can redeem myself. Im torn with a few games this week. For instance, the Jets-Steelers game. I want the Jets to win, but the Steelers are just so good. And I would love to see the Colts knock pretty boy Tom Brady on his ass and send them home in front of the home Foxborough fans. But New England is a juggernaut. For Peyton Manning, Im sure it was fun setting the single season TD record, but it's about time for Peyton to put on his big boy pants and make it to the Super Bowl. And with the Eagles, I haaaaate the Eagles. But the Vikings are just so inconsistant, it's hard to have any faith in them. The only game I am 100% sure about who I want to win is the Falcons. And to be honest, if I didn't have Atlanta in my office football pool, I probably wouldn't even watch this game.
So my picks for the week are:
Indianapolis to de-thrown New England
Pittsburgh over the Jets
Philly over the Vikings
Falcons soaring over the Rams
So I get my drums last night. UPS shows up around 6:00. I take the stuff downstairs, and Rachel and I head out to dinner. When we get back, I begin assembling the kit. Man it was a lot tougher than I thought putting this thing together. The kick pedal for the bass drum was like a Rubicks cube for me. Luckily Rachel figured that out. If it weren't for her, I probably still wouldn't have it together. So I played a little while just to get a feel for the set and headed upstairs to take a shower and go to bed. I take a shower, turn on Letterman and get into bed. Rachel falls asleep, Im pretty wide awake so I begin reading the drum processor book. I read about a few neat features and I head back downstairs to try them out. I hook my Ipod up to the AUX port on the processor and I begin to rock out with Nirvana, Audioslave, Metallica and yes, Cinderella. Next thing I know, I walk out and look at the clock and it's 1:15 AM. Yikes!!! So needless to say when the alarm went off this morning, I was not a happy camper. But I have three days after today to recover. Whoohoo. Love three day weekends.
