Back to School
So tonight is my first class. I'm a little nervous since I haven't been to school in so long, but as long as I don't run into any bullies trying to take my lunch money I should be fine.
So when will the rest of the world be sending the US money to help the people impacted by the mudslides in California? Oh right, they won't be sending any money. Thanks.
Rachel was stuck at inventory on Sunday night, so we missed the premier of 24. So we had dinner and started a 4 hour marathon last night. We got a few phone calls in the middle of the viewing, but managed to make it through all four hours. This season looks like a good one. The premise. A group from Turkey living on US soil kidnaps the Secretary of Defense and his daughter. They threaten to put the secretary of defense on trial for crimes against humanity and broadcast it across the internet. There is also a mysterious briefcase that keeps getting passed around. I suspect it's some sort of dirty bomb. Great stuff. In 4 hours of the show, there's been two kidnappings, several gun fights, an explosion, and a robbery at gun point. Wahoo...
So I ordered my drum kit. It should be here by Friday. A 3 day weekend to drum my ass off. WOOHOO!!!! Look out Lars!!! Look out Tommy Lee. There's a new drummer in town. So yeah, it will only be a matter of days before there is so sort of Mp3, jpg or mpeg video of me playing the drums here on the blog. hehe playing the drums badly that is.
Howard Stern had James Brown and his wife on his show this morning. Man that James Brown is one wacky kat. Highly entertaining, which explains why he has a new reality show on VH1. He has the craziest laugh I've ever heard. He does this loooooong windup. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hahhhhaaaaaaa!!!! It was great. He did it like 10 times during the interview and I found myself immitating him in my car. Luckily it's winter and my windows were up.

You bought drums???
Yes, an electronic set by Yamaha. It's a full set with two cymbals, snare, bass, high hat, two toms and a floor tom. And it's got a drum processor, so it has like 50 drum kits programmed in. So if I feel like rocking out, I can. Or if Im feeling saucy, I can do it Tito Puente style!!!

So I can play them with headphones and not make a racket. I've wanted a set of drums since the L-N-P days, and I've been saving money in my "raining day" fund for a while now. I cleared some room downstairs in the spare room on Sunday. So here they come. Look out!!!!
Good luck in your class tonight. Hope you get to take pics and post them.
Ummm don't know comparing the deaths of 150,000 people to the yearly mudslides is comparible.
The mudslides are awful but they are able to rebuild much faster because they have the means and assistance.
The countries afflicted by the tsunami quake are third world and rebuilding, housing will take a guesstimate of 10 years. Plus there is feeding, housing to consider in the immediate future.
Oh good to Rachel with your druming! I see a band happening!
Well I was being a bit sacrastic regarding the mudslides. But Im just so tired of the United States being shit on by the rest of the world. The US is the devil, until someone needs something from us. The C130s that the Air Force flew over were the first supplies into the area. Bringing much needed rice, clean water, and medical supplies to the people in Thailand and Indonesia. We're doing so much to help, yet somehow we are still perceived as not doing enough. We have two former presidents going around trying to raise funds to help the tsunami victims. Americans have donated so much money that a lot of relief and charity agencies aren't accepting any more money. But we're still the rich, fat, dumb Americans. From now on there are two kinds of people in the world. Them and us. :-)
