Damn Yankees

Holy crap am I tired. The Yankees game didn't end till 11:45. Geesh!!! By the time I showered and shaved, it was well after midnight. So when the alarm clock went off this morning, I nearly threw it across the room. The kicker, I get here at 7:50, and so far I haven't seen any sign of my boss (A Yankees hater, even though his wife is a big Yankees fan from Binghamton), and my bosses boss isn't here either (A Red Sox fan who bet me a lunch that the Sox would win the series against the Yankees). So I could have snoozed a few times and gotten a little more shuteye. Damnit...So Sleepy. But at least they won. I spent half the night installing a new kitchen faucetwith the help of Rachel's dad. The Yankees were humming a long. Then as the project neared completion, the perfect game for Mussina ended and the Red Sox suddenly had 5 runs. I may have to watch the rest of the series with my head under the kitchen sink for good luck.

Everyone is making a big deal about Hideki Matsui's 5 RBI's. And yes that's impressive, especially since he did it against Curt Shilling. But his lapses in the field last night also cost the Yankees 3 or 4 runs. It's odd for him to make such blunders in the field, he's one of the most fundamentally sound players I've ever seen. But I guess when you knock in 5 runs, you can have the occasional bad fielding day. But at least he hustles, unless that grease headed Manny Ramirez who just lolligags his way around in left field. I'm sorry folks, he should have caught that line drive Bernie Williams hit over his head in the bottom of the 8th. But I'm glad he didn't.

Lastly, I would just like to say no matter who wins the series, I hope it's a somewhat peaceful one. I'm tired of Pedro throwing at Yankees heads. Normally things stay pretty peaceful at Yankees Stadium. I think the Red Sox are too afraid of getting batteries tossed at them while out on the field. But the Red Sox seem to resort to throwing at people as soon as the going gets tough. Mark my words, if the Yankees have a good night against Pedro and make him their collective bitch, Pedro will throw at someone. Probably Posada or Sheffield.

Hey Pedro...Who's your daddies?
