Random Thought of the Day
I saw this commercial the other night and got to thinking... The commercial starts out by saying "Doctors recommend getting your heart rate up 30 minutes a day". Then they show a guy zipping around in a luxury sports car. I think it was either an Acura or BMW. So then I got to thinking, what if you got your heart rate up by being scared? Like having someone hide in a closet inside your house and then just jumping out at you. Or having someone set off a pack of fire crackers while you were asleep. Those are probably good for 2-3 minutes of heart racing excitment. You would probably wind up being freaked out and paranoid, but no one said getting in shape would be easy. This is truely the lazy man's way of getting a cardiovascular work out. Looking for my infomercial early in 2004.
One of the coolest things about Elf (which I can't believe I forgot to mention) is that it features Andy Richter and Kyle Gas in several scenes. I thought it was kind of appropriate pairing the two together, since they were both part of a comedy duo and have seen their comedic partners (Conan Obrien and Jack Black) go on to great success while they struggle to keep their names out there. Neither Andy nor Kyle had any ground breaking scenes, but they are part of the scene where Will Farrell's character (Buddy the elf) mistakes a midget for an elf. This results in the midget running down the long conference room table and tackeling Buddy. I haven't seen a funnier midget fight since Kramer and Mickey fought on Seinfeld.
